• Deadline for entry is June 15th.
• All authors will be notified whether they have been accepted by June 25th. The book's publish date is July 30th.

Legal Stuff

• For authors that are under age 18, your guardian will need to sign your contract that will be forwarded upon selection.
• All selected entries are on “spec.” Meaning if we pick yours to be included you will be paid a fee.
• This fee will be determined by the number of entries because mom said there is definitely a budget!
• All entries MUST be your own work and unpublished. School assignments are okay to use.

This is a great opportunity for students to add a publishing credit to their name and for adults to mentor student. About the Book The purpose of this book is to offer support and guidance for black girls in predominately white institutions (PWI) as well as offer insight to PWI's so that they may gain a better understanding of our experiences. Your Entry:

• Entries should be no more than 1,000 words. There is no minimum. I want to represent a variety of voices and experiences so be open and creative.
• Your piece can be anything from a poem, to a letter to your younger/current student self, to an essay or story. Use your voice!
