Katie Quander, Contributor Black Girl, White School: Thriving, Surviving and No, You Can't Touch My Hair
Hi! My name is Katie Quander, and I'm a high school sophomore in Houston, Texas, and I have spent my whole life going to a predominantly white school. I love playing softball, cheering for my school, and dancing. I am typically one of the few black girls, so I have gotten used to being the only person of color in situations throughout my life. I hope to help other little black girls be proud of themselves even if they aren't the same as everyone else.  Also, in the future, I hope to spread awareness about microaggressions in my school and community.
